Communications 

  • Oversee social media campaigns (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

  • Maintain website and website calendar

  • Create and oversee marketing efforts (flyers, graphics, etc)

  • Oversight of bulk mailings in conjunction with Administrative Coordinator to disseminate information to congregants by mail

  • Create ads for inclusion in The Jewish Observer, the Nashville Jewish community publication

  • Additional oversight and coordination of communication tasks as determined by senior management

  • Create the Congregations’s quarterly print newsletter, The Messenger, establish a timetable with the publisher and process bulk mail online with USPS Intelligent Mail for Small Business Tool

  • Create weekly Keynote monitor presentations for foyer monitor

  • Graphic design/technology support for Religious School

  • Pick up on new technology and test or implement pertinent trends to maximize office efficiency (RSVP software etc)

  • Lead development of marketing and communications materials including print and digital (posters, postcards, brochures, and newsletters), working in collaboration with team and vendors as appropriate including key High Holy Days communications, program guidelines and materials that support development efforts.

  • Write compelling copy, event and programming descriptions, and other communications as required

  • Manage production of printed materials such as brochures, posters, invitations, announcements, Haggadot, and other booklets. Build and manage relationships with key vendors including printers

  • Identify internal and eternal stories, photo opportunities, and other materials to include in our congregant communications. Communicate with staff and congregants to collect testimonials and feedback from events

  • Manage photo library, organize and tag with keywords for future search. Respond to internal and external photo requests

  • Respond to routine media requests, brings to the attention of senior management when appropriate. Monitor press and social media for mentions of Congregation Micah, clergy, senior staff, and board members

  • Manage department requests for programming communications plans and materials, provide advice and consultation on communications strategies

  • Other communications projects and duties as needed including providing support to the Director of Education, weekly programming email to congregants (the E-Blast), and ongoing social media work

 

Administrative 

  • Administrative support to Rabbis and Executive Director as needed

  • With the Adult Education Committee coordinate, market, and help facilitate Adult learning sessions including weekly and monthly staples i.e. Mah-Jongg, Micah Book Club, Schmooze & Views, Bagels, Learning, and Torah and Chai Life wine tastings and outings

  • General program and event support including lifecycle events and special programming

  • Supports membership/first point of contact for inquiries

  • Maintain membership database as needed

  • Weekly Shabbat programs

  • Weekly Shabbat Announcements and Yahrzeit list/M’Sheberach for rabbis

  • Staff support for funerals and shiva as needed

  • Coordinated High Holy Day preparations and acted as technology/staff support during High Holy Days

  • Coordinate Bar and Bat Mitzvah gifts and certificates

  • Bris and Baby Naming certificates and programs

  • Weekly yahrzeit cards (and creation of monthly yahrzeit procedure)

  • Money (petty cash, cash deposits, running checks, scanning checks, tzedakah)

  • Process credit card payments/batch

  • Process monthly annual support credit cards

  • Manage postage hardware

  • Donations (collection, logging, acknowledging, preparing list for Messenger)

  • Mail post B’nai Mitzvah letters

  • First point of contact in office – answering phones, monitoring doors, accepting packages, posting/collecting/distributing mail, etc)

  • Oversight of monthly office supply order

Technology 

  • Pioneered Micah's Visual T'filah launch from its inception with wireless technology solutions and the creation of Hebrew/English slide sets. 

  • Pick up on new technology and test or implement pertinent trends to maximize office efficiency (such as automated RSVP software)

  • Integrated Listen auditory assist devices catering to a variety of end-user needs, including Tele-coil

  • Implemented and office-wide automated RSVP solution for events and High Holy Days

  • Updated the existing StreamSpot live view encoder and optimized for a variety of bandwidths

  • Modernized the quarterly newsletter, The Micah Messenger

  • Increased social media integration 

  • Created a web portal for adult education classes and activities

  • Organized files on server

  • Monitored technology systems in various locations within the building. Monitor wireless coverage. 

 

Community

  • ​With wife, fully participated in rehearsals and accompanied Shabbat services monthly as members of "Shabbat Shaband, Congregation Micah's teen/adult instrumental ensemble 

  • Assisted cantorial soloist in Shabbat Shaband programming, music library, and communications

  • Active as a family in synagogue and Jewish Federation of Nashville related programming
